John Galliano to design a collection for Topshop?

John Galliano to design a range for Topshop, FashionBiteRumours are circulating that John Galliano could design a range for Topshop, following in the footsteps of friend and former Topshop designer Kate Moss. It has been speculated that Galliano (who designed Kate’s stunning vintage-inspired wedding dress) may have been in talks with Topshop boss Sir Philip Green at Kate’s Cotswold wedding earlier this month.

GUEST BLOGGER: Freelance journalist and beauty writer Amy Golding

This February Topshop launches its new spring/summer core make-up collection as well as its trend collection, Sandstorm. To celebrate, the fashion brand threw a makeover party in the penthouse of London’s Sanderson Hotel and invited Fashionbite along to test the range.

At the event, I discovered the art of nail marbling. This involves hapazardly splashing drops of nail varnish into a bowl of water, before letting the different colours of floating varnish settle on your nails, creating a marble effect. It’s great fun and perfect for anyone who struggles to paint their nails neatly using a brush.

I also got the chance to catch up with celebrated make-up artist Hannah Murray. The former ballet dancer told me she had just returned from trips to Mexico and the Caribbean, where she’d worked on fashion shoots for Vogue China and H&M.

Murray, who works with Topshop on its make-up campaigns, explained the Sandstorm capsule collection was inspired by the experimental Burning Man festival, held once a year in the Nevada Black Rock Desert.

In-keeping with the desert theme, the range features products including Desert Sun blusher and Ablaze lip gloss. It also consists of a collection of eyeshadows and nail varnishes as well as a semi-permanent eyeliner designed to last as long as you do at festivals this summer.

Topshop’s spring/summer core collection consists of a range of nail varnishes, lipsticks and blushers in pink, lilac, orange and gold shades, as well as a range of eyeliners and mascaras. All products come in playful poke-a-dot packaging.

Kate Moss’ final collection for Topshop: PICS OF THE NIGHT

Kate Moss Kate moss Kate moss FashionBite popped down to see Kate Moss launch her 14th and final collection for Topshop last night at its flagship Oxford Circus store.

The lower ground floor of Topshop was rammed as crowds packed in to get a glimpse of the supermodel.

Kate descended the escalator, accompanied by Topshop owner Sir Philip Green and his daughter Chloe, wearing a floor length custom-made black pant suit, complete with freshly cut blunt fringe (apparently Kate cut it in the week herself with some scissors!) and bright red lips.

As the crowd looked on, Kate wandered around the the shop-in-shop with Philip, picking out items and looking at the collection as if they were out shopping together. She certainly appeared for a lot longer than her 7 second debut at the launch of her first collection for Topshop (when she appeared in the shop window).

I actually quite like a lot of the collection (I’m going to pop back and pick up a few pieces when it’s not so manic!), but I think it’s right that the retailer and supermodel have parted ways. Kate has revisted some of her iconic best sellers from the last 14 collections, but I think her last few ranges were slightly tired, so the time to finish is right…go out with a bang.

Maxi dress- the summer must-have!

The sun’s out, it’s going to be a gorgeous weekend and I don’t know about you but I’m starting to get really excited about the prospect of these long, hot summer days!

I’m actually off on holiday next month with a friend, we’re going to Singapore (staying with her Mum) then heading to Bali/Lombok..any tips welcome!

So, I’m having to plan my summer wardrobe early and the maxi-dress is a key piece. Dress-down with bikini, flats and a beachbag for day or killer heels and chunky accessories for night.

When Asos opened its doors to fashion bloggers recently, check out my blog post- they were also kind enough to give us a £100 voucher in our goodie bags!

I bought this stunning One Teaspoon beaded tie dye maxi dress (above), it looks great with some strappy black wedge ankle boots (also Asos) and a stack of gold bangles. I can’t wait to wear it..not quite warm enough here just yet!

Maxi-dresses are everywhere this summer, you can pick up some fab high street versions at Topshop and Miss Selfridge or if your budget allows, take a look at Net-a-Porter for that designer piece.

Check out this stunning Halston maxi-dress at Net-a-Porter – a great way to channel your inner Carrie pre-SATC 2 next month!

Snow bunny: how to keep stylish in the snow?

Snow is falling down relentlessly outside, but that’s no excuse to wrap up warm, snuggle up under a duvet with a hot chocolate and hide from the outside world…oh, ok it is then!

…but, if you have to venture out you may as well do it stylishly- the snow is no excuse to let up on your fashion credentials. In fact, it’s a great way to try out some new styles. Fashionbite has picked out a couple of key looks to keep you stylishly cool in the snow…

This eighties-style faux fur coat from Topshop ticks all the boxes, I love the Cruella de-Ville-esque vibe.

Team it with black Dr Martens, from Rubbersole and a knitted beret from Accessorize.

Sportier snow bunnies- keep snug in these blizzard snow boots with faux fur trim from Mountain Warehouse.

Accessorise with a bobble hat from Accessorize and a Lula white padded coat from Fat Face.
