Glassworks Studios pop-up shop a huge success

Glassworks Studios, pop-up shop, Covent GardenGlassworks Studios, pop-up shop, Covent Garden Glassworks Studios, pop-up shop, Covent Garden Glassworks Studios pop-up shop, Covent Garden Glassworks Studios, the online fashion and lifestyle boutique, has extended its 2 week pop-up store in Covent Garden to 2 months, following a fantastic response from customers.

The contemporary online shop, which launched in March, stocks a mix of well-known luxury brands such as Sass & Bide and Karen Walker, alongside fab New York labels such as vintage-inspired Rory Beca.

I headed down to the pop-up shop in Covent Garden yesterday to have a nose around and I was v.impressed.

The founders, former Harvey Nichols buyer Damien Paul and international banker Lauren Lewis, have a clear direction about the type of customer they’re targeting and what the brand’s identity is. They were keen to stress it is not about pricepoints, with jeans ranging from £60 to £260. Damien says the customer is a female shopper who travels a lot, who is into her designer labels but also shops on the high street. She is style savvy, but time conscious. Lauren says its the carefully selected edit that will define and differentiate the brand going forward.

If you’re near Covent Garden, take a look, otherwise look online at www.glassworks-studios.com.

Glassworks Studios, 34 Great Queen Street. London.

The pop-up store stays open until July 25.

Harvey Nichols launches Lula pop-up shop: PICS FROM THE NIGHT

Coco Sumner playing at Lula's pop-up shop, Harvey Nichols Lula pop-up shop, Harvey NicholsLiberty Ross at Lula's pop-up shop, Harvey Nichols Lula pop-up shop at Harvery NicholsLula pop-up shop at Harvery Nichols 2 Harvey Nichols hosted a private dinner last night to celebrate Lula magazine’s 5 year anniversary and the launch of a Lula pop-up shop on the department store’s fourth floor.

Lula, the inspirational fashion/art/music lovers magazine, mixes high end fashion to die for and candid interviews- all with a whimsical dose of make believe.

Harvey Nichols invited Lula to be a part of their Fourth Floor, a new concept space dedicated to the eclectic modern woman. Lula’s founder Leith Clark curated a pop-up shop of her favourite things, a celebration of all things Lula.

Rodarte, Erdem, Lover, Miu Miu, Charles Anastase, Rachel Antonoff and Sonia Rykiel have all created one-off pieces for the shop, with books and music from her friends Liz Goldwyn, Melissa Auf Der Maur, Derek Blasberg, Daisy de Villeneuve and Karen Elson.

Chanel has even created a special treat for all those who make a purchase!

The collaboration stems from Leith’s love for Harvey Nichols. She says: “Harvey Nichols is the only store you need to visit in London. British style heaven”, also when I worked at Vogue as an assistant after I first moved to London I would shop there on pay day every single month. It made me broke but very happy. It was the only place I wanted to shop. Still is.”

The dinner was attended by the likes of Clemence Poesy, Ellen von Unwerth, Liberty Ross and Nathalie Press.

Diner’s were treated to a special acoustic performance by Coco Sumner.

Guests drank: Lychee and rose cocktails
Guests ate: Crab salad, Roasted chicken leg with basmati rice, White chocolate mousse with raspberries

The Lula shop is in store and online at www.shop.harveynichols.com.

Carey Mulligan's BAFTA dress at Selfridges pop-up charity shopCarey Mulligan's BAFTA dress at Selfridges pop-up charity shop Selfridges has teamed up with Oxfam to open Britain’s biggest pop-up charity shop in its flagship London store this Friday.

Annie Lennox has led a selection of A-list stars to create, set-up, stock and staff the charity pop-up shop. Thousands of vintage, high-end and celebrity-donated items, plus the best accessories, homewares, music and books from Oxfam shops across the country, will be gathered together.

For lovers of all things vintage and high-end second hand- this is a brilliant chance to get your hands on some fabulous pieces!

Soda Stream relaunches with designer makeover

As a child of the ’80′s, I was the proud owner of a Soda Stream- and it’s now making a come back..with a little help from a few designer names!

Soda Stream opened a pop-up shop in Camden last week, attended by celebrity/interior designer Meg Matthews (above), who helped customise the fizz-making machines. London Fashion Week designer Emma Bell (left) also made an appearance to put her design skills to good use on some limited edition Soda Streams.

The retro-themed shop was a blast from the past, with an 80′s themed dance floor and games including over-sized Rubik’s Cubes, hand-held Pac-man games and bubble ray-guns. A SodaStream mixologist created virgin cocktails with the latest flavours and combinations.

The revival has started….

If you fancy revisiting your youth, or just ‘getting busy with the fizzy,’ for the first time, check out
Soda Stream’s website for more details.
