Peacocks: New Daisy Lowe high summer pics

Pearl Lowe’s new high summer range for Peacocks is inspired by the great British festival and family trips to Glastonbury, with a collection of floral printed playsuits, polka dot dresses and pretty lace camisoles.

Prices start from £18 for a lace camisole to £40 for Pearl’s trademark vintage inspired tea dress, modeled by her daughter Daisy Lowe along with another model. The range also includes vintage inspired bags and vanity cases for the first time.

Pearl says: “The collection has been inspired by a summer packed with visits to outdoor music events. In my life, fashion and music have always gone hand in hand and in our family summer life has always centred on festivals. Every one of these dresses has been designed to look equally as fabulous at Glastonbury as they would on a summer evening at Kenwood or Glyndebourne, or even sat at work dreaming of the next weekend away.”

Daisy Lowe adds: “I grew up going to festivals with mum and with the summer coming up I have loads of festival outfits to plan. This summer all my girlfriends have already been asking to borrow mum’s summer collection, but I’ve told them to get their own because I need to wear them!”

The collection is due to launch online at www.peacocks.co.uk June 28.

PEACOCKS: Just-in, New Daisy Lowe pics

Peacocks is due to launch its second Pearl Lowe for Peacocks collection in stores on May 13.

The collection of vintage inspired tea dresses and accessories are modeled by her daughter, Daisy Lowe- who looks stunning in the new campaign, don’t you think? The collection has expanded for spring/summer to include jeans, T-shirts and cardigans.

The range is a celebration of the English countryside inspired by blossoms, summer picnics and Pearl’s family life in Somerset… which Pearl famously left the notorious Primrose Hill set for in London a few years back.

See The Times article, Pearl Lowe: Why I swapped the Primrose Hill set for Somerset, for background.

Pearl says: ” My inspiration takes in riverside summer picnics, croquet on the lawn and long fun-filled summer days. Everyone knows my love of vintage.”

Daisy adds: “Summer is my favourite season and there is no doubt that every single item in my mum’s new collection is going to be well worn this summer by me and my girlfriends.”

After the lovely weekend we’ve just had, I’m already thinking hot, lazy summer days and afternoons in the garden…perfect!

Peacocks relaunches website- where’s Primark?

Peacocks has relaunched its website and said it aims to be the number one value fashion retailer online.

This is off the back of a 90% increase in online sales from January ’09 to Jan’10.

The new site sells double the number of lines as Peacocks’ previous transactional site and offers improved functionality for its 200,000 visitors per week.

Last month, value retailer Tesco launched its first ever premium range online called F&F Couture and is looking to ramp up its online presence…

…which begs the question, where’s Primark?

Primark seems to be dragging its heels over launching an online site, despite all it’s competitors having made the move. Of course, it’s very different running a store-based retail operation, compared to an online one, but the sales potential is also huge. And most retailers say online is their biggest store.

Peacocks managing director Tim Bettley said: “E-commerce is set to experience further growth over the next decade which is why we have made this major investment in our new transactional site.”

So, will Primark follow suit..? Watch this space.
