NEW SEASON: Boutique by Jaeger Neon Knitwear

Fluro pop jumpers at Boutique by Jaeger, FashionBite 2I have a serious love of all things neon – fluro pop clutches, slashes of neon on shoes and shots of fluorescent on clothing. So I squealed with delight at Jaeger’s press day last week when I saw these new season neon jumpers in the AW12 Boutique by Jaeger collection.

An alternative to your normal festive season jumpers colours, they would look fab teamed with skinny jeans and some brogues for relaxed weekend wear. You’ll have to wait a few months though, as new season product doesn’t start dropping until June.

What will Raf Simons appointment mean for Christian Dior?

Raf Simons at Jil Sander for AW12, FashionBiteTwitter was awash last night with excited Tweeters announcing and re-tweeting the news that former Jil Sander creative director Raf Simons has been appointed as artistic director of Christian Dior [along with the news that Facebook is buying Instagram!]

It has been one of the most highly anticipated appointments in the fashion world – causing much debate as to who will take the helm – since the role became available last year following the firing of former creative director and disgraced designer John Galliano.

Raf Simons will show his first collection for Dior during Couture Week in July. Read more

Transeasonal Knitwear with East London designer Amy Hall

Amy Hall Knitwear, FashionBiteI’m a huge fan of knitwear – chunky knits in the winter, fine merino wool in the summer, coatigans, cardigans …you name it. As an alternative to a coat (in this beautiful weather we’re having at the moment), a chunky knit cardigan is a great option.

Amy Hall is an emerging East London-based designer who specialises in hand-made knitwear.

As we  entrench ourselves ever further into all things digital - fashion shows are live streamed and consumers are able to order direct from the catwalk a season ahead - it has been reported that See by Chloé is set to debut its AW12 collection in an online exclusive catwalk show for the first time this season (in the first few days of Paris Fashion Week). Chloé’s diffusion line previously showed by appointment only. LFW Day 5 – Disco diva at Meadham Kirchhoff & sporty elegance at Roksanda Ilincic

Meadham Kirchoff AW12, FashionBiteI absolutely loved Meadham Kirchoff’s show at London Fashion Week this season, which was a colourful explosion of colours with a disco-themed backdrop and a ‘70’s-glam twist. 

The brilliant design duo really know how to have fun with fashion and this season’s clashing prints, statement bright tights, oversized decorative earrings and crazy sequinned suits did just that! Read more

LFW Day 3 – Pam Hogg rocks at AW12 catwalk show!

Pam Hogg, AW12, London Fashion Week, FashionBiteI was invited to sit front row at the Pam Hogg show, by Vauxhall Fashion Scout sponsors The Body Shop (thanks guys!).  

I’ve seen Pam show for the last 4/5 seasons and I interviewed her a few seasons ago when I was working with OnOff at London Fashion Week.

She’s an amazing lady and her catwalk shows always draw in a packed crowd, which this season included Jo Wood, Alexandra Burke, Janice Dickenson and Jamie Whinstone (who modelled in the show).   Read more

London Fashion Week Day 3 – Mulberry announces new it bag, the ‘Del Rey’

Mulberry AW12, FashionBiteFirst thing on the morning of Day 3 at London Fashion Week, an announcement from Mulberry dropped into my inbox – news of its new icon bag, named after US singer Lana Del Rey, called the ‘Del Rey.’ Oooh..I love a new it bag, will it be as big as the Alexa though??

The news superseded their AW12 catwalk show – the first time the brand has shown on-schedule at London Fashion Week – which started at 9am and had a ‘scary monsters’ theme with oodles of gorgeous shaggy faux fur on outerwear, bags and skirts.
