Nivea teams up with ASOS for launch of new Invisible Black & White deodrant

Sponsored Post

Nivea.Asos competition 1

ASOS has joined forces with Nivea for the launch of its new Black & White invisible deodrant.

The deodrant is being touted as ‘the answer to deodrant stains,’ with white marks on black clothes becoming a thing of the past. The technology used also helps prevent yellow stains that can develop over time due to a mixture of deodorant, sweat and washing powder.

To celebrate the launch of this new product, ASOS has designed a capsule range of four minimal ‘Black & White’ dresses. The collection features two ’60′s inspired shift dresses, a midi sheer black dress and a white skater skirt dress. Monochrome dominated the SS11 catwalks, so this collection hits all the seasonal trend boxes.

Nivea. Asos competition, fashionbite

For a chance to win this collection, simply enter the ASOS/Nivea competition at Invisible for Black & White . You just need to style up one of the dresses with a choice of four accessories and you could win this fab summer wardrobe.

I opted to accessorise the white skater skirt dress with bold, cobalt blue shoes (above top). So, why not enter and you could win your summer party dress wardrobe?

The competition closes on May 31…good luck!

ASOS teams up with Diet Coke for street style hunt

ASOS and Diet CokeYou many have seen the customised lipstick print Diet Coke cans…but ASOS has teamed up with Diet Coke for a promo that includes free ASOS vouchers and the chance of appearing in the iconic Coca-Cola screen in Piccadilly Circus, London (the same place that Burberry live streamed its AW11 catwalk show this season during London fashion Week). See FashionBite’s post Burberry To Live Screen 3D Show.

Each limited edition Diet Coke can has a unique code, you just need to text or enter it on online to unlock the value. I’ve just entered mine and won a £5 voucher off a £20 spend at ASOS, not massive, but you can win up to £100 so worth the 50p can!

In addition, ASOS and Diet Coke are also on the hunt for the UK’s Street Style Star – calling for people to upload pics of their best street style look to ASOS.com/streetstylestar to be in with a chance of appearing on the big Coca-Cola screen in Piccadilly.

ASOS launches first fully integrated Facebook store

ASOS launches first fully integrated Facebook store

Wow, ASOS has taken Facebook to a whole new level and launched a fully integrated Facebook shop at Apps.facebook.com/asosofficial.

You can shop ASOS’ entire product range, with around 1,300 new products added each week, just through Facebook now..amazing! If you’re already a member of Facebook, you just get access through your Facebook account by approving the site through the link above.

With 11 million unique visits per month and a following of close to 400,000 on Facebook, ASOS is offering customers the chance to buy, save, share and comment on items without needing to leave Facebook.

ASOS e-Commerce director James Hart says: “I’m delighted to announce the arrival of our Facebook Store; another first from ASOS, and another way for our customers to tailor their ASOS shopping experience. Millions of our users already interact with ASOS through Facebook, commenting on, sharing and discovering new items. Many of those go on to buy something on one of our sites. Our Facebook Store will allow them to do this directly through Facebook.”

FASHIONBITE’S VIEW

I’ve signed up and had a brief look around, it looks a lot like ASOS’ main site but with the added Facebook functions such as ‘Invite Friends.’ The only slightly annoying thing with that is you can’t ‘Select All,’ you have to just invite 16 friends at a time. The site also takes a few seconds to load after searching for something, so runs slightly slower that ASOS’ main site.

But the great thing is, it is a truly social shopping experience…and ASOS are again leading the way in innovative social media..congrats!!

FashionBite goes ice-skating with ASOS

FashionBite and The ASOS team

FashionBite goes ice-skating with ASOSFashionBite goes ice-skating with ASOS FashionBite goes ice-skating with ASOSFashionBite goes ice-skating with ASOS The lovely folk at ASOS invited FashionBite for a nose around their winter accessories collection, a few glasses of mulled wine and then ice-skating at Somerset House.

I was able to pick out a few pieces from the fab selection including faux fur, fairisle and cable knit gloves, hats, scarves, snoods…

I nabbed this Russian hat (above), I’ve been after a Russian-style hat for ages..so really pleased!

Also, these shearling gloves. I have to say, I’ve been wearing the gloves for the last few days and they are SO warm, I’ve never had a warmer pair..my hands almost get too warm in them..but they’re perfect for this weather!

For more winter accessories, see www.asos.com.

Ice-skating was great fun, noone fell over luckily, but we did shield a few randoms from falling on us after they crashed into us.

I’m heading home for Christmas tomorrow, like most people I’m sure…

Happy Christmas to everyone! I’ll try and post something but can’t promise as roast turkey and mulled wine might get the better of me!

ASOS – fab dresses for Christmas Parties

ASOS has some fab Christmas Party dresses

ASOS has some fab Christmas party dresses

Christmas party season is due to hit fever pitch in the next few weeks, so it’s best to get your outfit sorted out early!

ASOS has some gorgeous party dresses in leather, silk and lace with bodycon, classic wrap and shift silhouettes..definitely worth checking out!

I’m heading off to the Time2/Selfridges Christmas party (I’m Online Editor at Time2.co.uk) on Wednesay night at Chinawhite’s, so I’ve been putting together my outfit this weekend.

I think I’m going for a black, backless jumpsuit I bought from Asos a few months back, teamed with some new black, suede ankle boots I picked up from a shop in Carnaby Street the other night. Along with chunky gold bangles, gold necklace and a vintage black leather jacket I pinched from my Dad (from his rocker days in the ’70′s).

But, it’s not definitely decided- I’ll take some pics and let you know.

Have you seen any other great sites for Christmas party outfits…?

Very.co.uk misses the boat with Olivia Rubin capsule collection…?

Olivia Rubin has designed a capsule collection for online fashion/department store Very.co.uk.

Olivia Rubin, known for her signature graphic prints including the famous brick print pictured on the designer (left), has designed a 5 piece capsule range for Very.co.uk. The collection will launch online for SS11 early next year.

The London Fashion Week designer has previously designed diffusion lines for Asos, My-Wardrobe.com and Oli.co.uk.
It was Olivia’s quirky prints that originally got her noticed by Asos.com, which subsequently stocked her SS09 collection. And it was about the same time that I interviewed the designer, who trained with John Galliano and Alexander McQueen, for Drapers magazine.

I love her work and I think she’s got that brilliant mix of creative drive and business acumen. However, I can’t help but feel that Very has missed the boat slightly with this one. Asos spotted her talent credentials in spring 09, then My-Wardrobe and Oli swiftly followed…and 2 years later Very decides to launch a capsule range. In the quick world of seasonal fashion trends and spotting new, up and coming design talent – you need to be a bit quicker off the mark!

Asos profits surge

Online giant Asos revealed pre-tax profits jumped 59% to £7 million in the six months to September 30 this morning and it is on track to achieve its target of becoming a global fashion destination.

Asos chief executive Nick Robertson told Drapers: “Asos is embarking on a new journey, from online store (albeit a big one) to a global fashion destination. The purpose is to drive incremental traffic and therefore extra sales.”

He said that Marketplace, which will enable boutiques and designers to showcase and sell their products, and Fashion Finder, to show “great fashion from brands which we might not necessarily sell,” will both be key.

Asos’s sales increased 50% in the first half to £131.4 million. UK sales rose 26% and international sales surged 120%.
