NEW: Luxury Oils At Jardins D’EDEN

Jardins D’EDEN is a new luxury skincare brand with the strapline ‘heavenly treats for the urban dweller’, which uses essential oils as the basis for all its products. Now stocked in Harrods, it was set up by 3 sisters with a passion for 100% natural ingredients and everything is handmade in London. I’ve been trialing the wonderful Indulge Body & Bath Oil, which at £25 is great value for money and comes in a beautiful Chanel No 5-esque glass bottle (the bottle is actually made in the same French factory as Chanel’s so I’m told!).

On the website, the founders say: “As children, we three sisters were blessed to share in the family ritual of extracting our own Orange Blossom water and Rosewater, and making our own olive oil soap – a local tradition in Lebanon dating back to the 14th century.  Our late dad, a highly-regarded maitre savonneur, started the family tradition of all-natural, olive oil based body products in 1967. Having followed diverse paths, we are renewing the family tradition and keeping our father’s dream alive.”

I caught up with one of the founders, Zeina Nazer, to find out a bit more about the brand…

Why did you launch Jardins D’EDEN?

We felt there was a need in the market for 100% natural products, with a stylish and luxurious look. We were raised producing natural soaps with our Dad and this really helped our sense of smell and enabled us to appreciate the therapeutic effects on our daily life. Although as 3 sisters we went in different directions initially (and lived around the world), we joined back together again in London to pursue this amazing legacy our father left.

What ingredients do you use in the products?

Our key ingredients are essential oils including rose absolute, geranium, ylang ylang, lavender and lemongrass. Our base oils include organic argan oil, rose hip oil and jojoba oil with unrefined organic shea butter, unrefined cocoa butter, Mango and kukui butter.

What sets Jardins D’EDEN apart from other brands out there?

Jardins D’EDEN products are 100% natural, handmade in London and packaged in a luxurious manner. The name came from our concept to make heavenly treats for every day use. It was also through our carefully designed scents, which are based on the different times of the day. Jardins D’EDEN or gardens of Eden aims to take its customer on a journey, outside the urban context into a place that is beyond our imagination. In a nutshell, it is our hope to turn our daily routines into pleasurable heavenly experiences. This could be the memory of a holiday we have been on or the one we are longing for.  Our silver, gold and diamond colours are carefully chosen to reflect this magical place.
