A Fabulous Sunday Afternoon At Ajala Spa

As a treat for the boyfriend’s birthday, we both decided to opt for a wonderfully relaxing Sunday afternoon at one of my favourite London spa’s, Ajala. This beautifully luxurious space feels a world away from hectic London life, I feel like I’ve been picked up and dropped into the middle of a Balinese retreat and the only tell-tale signs of London are the 5* star surroundings of the Grange Hotel.

Upon arrival, we changed into our soft towel dressing gowns and slippers and relaxed with some hot herbal tea whilst our room was prepared. The boyfriend was booked in for Ajala’s signature Face & Body Aroma Ritual, £185 (which includes a full body exfoliation, massage and facial) and I was down for the Ajala Signature Massage & Pedicure, £195. Both treatments lasted around 2 and a half hours, offering us a real chance to unwind.

We were booked in as a couple, so we shared the relaxation room for the massage which was really lovely. After a full body exfoliation with the delicious Mandarin and Grapefruit Oil Ajala products, our therapists’ used a mixture of hot stones and aromatherapy oils to massage away the stresses and strains as we slowly slipped into a state of deep relaxation. The Ajala Signature Massage is truly unbeatable. It would make a wonderful gift for someone and is great to do as a pair too!

Afterwards, I headed to a separate room to have my Ajala Pedicure, whilst the boyfriend was treated to the signature facial. My lower legs were first massaged with soothing hot and cold basalt stones, before being exfoliated with a heat treatment, after which a cooling mask was applied. My feet felt baby soft afterwards, they were then buffed to perfection and painted with a colour of my choice (I opted for purple).

Meanwhile, the boyfriend emerged from his facial looking like the fresh faced 25 year-old (when I first met him!) and the pampering appeared to have knocked years off him. His skin was so soft, his eyes dazzling bright and he agreed it was the most relaxing few hours he’d ever spent.
