‘Return To Elegance’ was the tantalising headline written on Alice Temperley’s invitation to her Temperley London Ss13 show at London Fashion Week this season. And a return to elegance it certainly was, with a nod to a by-gone era of ‘50’s grace and feminine style.
A beautifully embellished, elegant collection of soft, fluid silhouettes, cinched in 1950’s style skirts, glamorous backless dresses and oversized straw hats which oozed all the decadence of ‘50’s St Tropez – this was a beautifully alluring, ladylike collection. I absolutely adored it and was transported back to a summer break in St Tropez.
After the show, at the stunning Grand Connaught Rooms, we all popped next door for some delicious cocktails where I spotted the designer herself catching up with guests and model Jacquetta Wheeler, deep in conversation with a friend.
