LFW: Mulberry SS13 – Highlights From The Show (UPDATE!)

Mulberry SS13, London Fashion Week, FashionBite

Mulberry, the hottest ticket of the season this London Fashion Week, was nothing short of a fashion spectacular – presenting us with one of their strongest collections to date.

The garden gnomes and oversized garden foliage should have given away what turned out to be a very colourful and quintessentially English collection. The most beautiful thing about Mulberry is the real craftsmanship in each piece, but also the showmanship which is displayed each season. Everything has been thought about, it’s not just fashion strutting down a catwalk, it’s a story we are taken on by creative director Emma Hill.

Small details set the mood for SS13, such as the beautiful flowers adorning the branches of the Mulberry trees which reflected the palette of the collection perfectly, to the geckos which were a key print.

There was a 60’s feel to the cut and fit. Slouchy but sexy, not too fitted and not too loose, there was a real effortless feeling to each piece. The prints were intricate and applied perfectly, I particularly liked the prints on the classic bag styles, which unified the whole collection. Once again Mulberry has shown us that they can take unique inspiration each season, apply it to the ever changing trends and still show us something innovative, classic and fashion-forward at the same time.
