Head To Devon For A ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Weekend Break
We’ve got a secret to tell you… we love Strictly Come Dancing. We’ve been known to tune in to watch hapless celebs navigate their way across the dancefloor, but equally we love to see the contestants do unexpectedly well. We’ve always wished we could perfect the Foxtrot in an outrageous dancing costume ourselves, and now we’ve got our chance.
Nestled in the heart of Dartmoor, the Two Bridges Hotel is bringing a taste of Strictly Come Dancing to Devon, and we’re all invited. The ‘Strictly Dancing’ weekend break (October 20/12 2012) gives you the chance to develop skills in ballroom and Latin dancing, as well as offering sumptuous afternoon teas, performances by the BBC programme’s professionals Andrew Cuerden and Hanna Haarala, and stunning accomodation – it’s an incredible alternative to the usual weekend break!
For two days, the hotel’s beautiful dance floor will play host to Andrew and Hanna as they offer full ballroom and Latin tuition each morning and afternoon. In between intensive lessons, there’ll be gorgeous refreshments to keep you going, as well as three delicious meals.
Dance as little or as much as you like, at a level that’s comfortable for you – the classes are aimed at people of all abilities, and you can take a break any time you desire. Why not embark on an adventure to the stunning Devon coastline, or Dartmoor’s wild countryside?
When you’re done exploring, enjoy a dinner and dance cabaret on the Saturday evening, where guests can see Andrew and Hanna perform their famous Latin Emotion Cabaret, before a beautiful afternoon tea on Sunday afternoon.
The privately run Two Bridges Hotel has 32 bedrooms, many boasting priceless views over Dartmoor. Check out The Vivien Leigh Room (where the actress stayed) with its four poster bed and deep spa bath, before relaxing in your own bedroom, fit for a Queen.
Cosy lounges with huge log fires and beautiful sweeping lawns lead down to the river Dart and 60 acres of hotel grounds – it’s an idyllic place to escape the grime of the City.
As for the food, the award winning AA Rosette Tor Restaurant boasts a mouth-watering menu – think delicious West Country beef fillet, West Country cheese boards, clotted cream bread and butter puddings an English custard.
Places are already getting booked up, so if you fancy this weekend away with a difference, don’t delay! We’ll be there, trying not to make fools of ourselves on the dancefloor – and we can’t wait!
