FashionBite is thrilled to announce no-nonsense platinum blonde Gwen Stefani and her loyal band have returned to the airwaves after an eight-year hiatus.
Judging by their performance of new single ‘Settle Down’ at the Teen Choice Awards, the legendary ska band is sounding better than ever. Each member was sporting a black-and-white outfit, standing in stark contrast to the splashes of zany neon brights and psychedelic visualizations on the screens behind them.
The back portion of a truck was also seen onstage, a clear allusion to the single’s video which features each band member driving a large truck and meeting at a petrol station, where they join together to perform the song.
Produced by dance artist Diplo, the song comes from their upcoming album ‘Push and Shove’, their first release in over a decade. ‘Settle Down’ sees a return to the distinctive ska-pop sound favoured by the four-piece, with a healthy dose of reggae beats contributing to its feel-good, summery vibe.
Stefani’s silky vocals soften the edgy guitar riffs as she belts out the song’s addictive, repetitive chorus. Die-hard No Doubt fans across the globe will not be disappointed as the band deliver exactly what they’ve been missing since their legendary ‘Rock Steady’ sessions came to a close.
The song’s video sees the band meet up at a truck stop to perform the track – a nod to the group’s prolonged absence from the music scene after a period of solo ventures.
No Doubt have been sorely missed, and we can’t wait for the album release on September 25th!
