We all suffer from tired feet on occasion. Whether the result of relentless training for the 100 metres or simply a penchant for reckless footwear, Elemis have just the ting to soothe your soles. ‘Soles of Gold’ is a 15 minute treatment designed to revive and refresh feet across the capital this Olympic season, and last week FashionBite was lucky enough to be amongst the first to try it out.
Deep in the heart of busy Oxford Street – well the ground floor of John Lewis – is hidden a serene little pod equipped with everything you need to escape the hussle and bussle of central London – including a vibrating Shiatsu chair, which is probably the best thing to be invented… ever.
Reclined in the heavenly chair, covered in embroidered blankets and soothed by sounds of the rainforest, my feet were cleansed and prepared for massage with a warm pair of circulation-boosting lime infused mitts.
Next my Elemis expert gently rubbed my feet with a combination of Musclease Body Oil and Refreshing Gel designed to both soothe and revitalize muscles, and just as I was beginning to doze off, already in a deep state of relaxation, she introduced me to the hot stone – a therapeutic massage instrument designed to work deep into the muscles.
After 15 blissful minutes I was roused from my almost slumber and informed the treatment was over and I was ready to return to the real world. I walked back to Oxford Circus on brand new feet, radiating calm and barely noticing the frantic throng of shoppers around me.
Soles of Gold is exclusive to John Lewis Oxford Street and Stratford this summer and at just £10 a treatment it’s the only way to escape Olympic-mania this summer.
