The worlds of art and fashion are joining forces for a festival in the Cotswolds village of Painswick, with a host of well-known supporters and a competition for works of art which can be displayed on the body!
The Art Couture Painswick – a fabulous festival now in its third year – encourages skilled and imaginative people, both locally and nationally, to design works of fashion art for the body.
Artists from all over the UK have entered the festival’s unique catwalk competition, with contestants ranging from 3 to 91 years old. Catwalk-style shows will be held in the Painswick churchyard and around the entire village, which is closed to traffic for the day. Before the show visitors can also enjoy music, street performers, dancing and stalls selling high quality crafts, food and produce.
The panel of judges consists of fashion designer Savannah Miller, actress Emma Samms, accessories designer Beatrix Ong and Mary Wing To, winner of the New Zealand World of Wearable Art.
Keith Allen, renowned actor and father of Lily Allen, has been announced once again as the Master of Ceremonies and will be joined by Dr Dawn from Channel 4’s Embarrassing Bodies.
Themes this year include Circus, Food for Thought, Rough Diamond, Head Candy and Body Art.
