FashionBite At The Jewellery Show London

FashionBite joined the VIP crowd at The Jewellery Show London’s private party last week, set in the beautiful surroundings of Somerset House. We rubbed shoulders with Theo Fennell, ogled the latest designs from top jewellery designers the world over and caught the incredible catwalk show.
Last week was the glittering launch of the first annual Jewellery Show London at Somerset House, and we were lucky enough to be invited. The two day event, running from 12-13th June 2012, showcased over 90 of the most creative and exclusive UK and international jewellery designers and brands. Showing off their wares were Pandora, Baccarat, Ti Sento and Lalique, amongst many others.
The Show provided buyers and press with their very first look at the crucial Christmas jewellery and watch ranges, spring 2013 collections and designs by emerging designer talent. We were particularly impressed by the award-winning work of Leyla Abdollahi – her attention-grabbing ‘Okeanides’ collection was bold yet beautifully feminine.
Commenting on the launch of the Jewellery Show London, Exhibition Director Julie Driscoll said: “Yesterday’s show was a enormous success, attended by leading figures from the jewellery industry. It is brilliant to see the UK’s independent jewellery sector showing such great resilience despite the uncertain economic outlook.”
The catwalk show was the highlight of the launch, showcasing beautiful clothes by Morella Sassoon, Jasper Garvida, Alice Lee, Agatha Hambi and many more. The willowy models looked almost ethereal as they walked to a thumping bassline dubbed with classical music, sparkling as their jewellery caught the spotlights circling the room.
First up was Pandora, followed by Nicolas King, Clogau Gold and Isabell Kristensen. Next were Katsur Jewels, and we loved everything we saw. An up and coming brand with an authentic Eastern influence, Katsur Jewels has a distinct Bollywood feel. We were spellbound by the intricate detail in every piece, and can’t wait to see more from them.
We had a great time, and we’re looking forward to seeing the designs on the Spring/Summer 2013 catwalks!
