Illamasqua Launch Summer Collection: Naked Strangers

Just in time for the Olympics, one of our favourite British beauty brands Illamasqua have just launched their amazing summer range. We’ve had a peak and it looks like this season they’re going for gold.

Illamasqua has made a name for itself shocking and delighting with a somewhat novel take on beauty, always seeking to “challenge the conventions of the make-up industry”. This latest collection, Naked Strangers, which focusses its attention on subtle shades of gold, nude and peach seems a little out of character…until you see how they celebrated the launch.

Focussing on the naked aspect of the collection, Illamasqua flaunted Naked Strangers with a risqué launch party at their Beak Street store hosted by real-life naked strangers wearing gold body-paint and little else.

The Naked Strangers collection, made up of three nail varnishes, two blushes (a cream and a powder) and two lip glosses (one neutral, one almost solid gold) embodies summer in a very different way to the neons and pastels we’ve been experimenting with lately.  The whole range is luxurious, decadent and somehow naughty, while also managing to exude a sort of warmth, a sepia tone that leaves you nostalgic for hot summer nights in glamorous locations.

Illamasqua describe their new range as “a place where alter egos are laid bare and naked flesh is a source of unashamed inspiration” it also looks like a great way to accentuate a summer tan.
