The world-renowned La Bastide de Marie hotel in the South of France is launching a unique new style of accommodation that captures the free-spirited, nomadic nature of gypsy life. We love it!
If you’ve ever felt the pull of the open road, or dreamt of sleeping under a blanket of stars, you should treat yourself to this experience.
Guests are shown to their very own Roulotte – an authentic boudoir modelled on a vintage gypsy caravan, nestled in the hotel’s stunning grounds. La Bastide promises to satisfy your craving for romantic, hedonistic living without skimping on style or luxury.
Although the attentive staff cater to your every whim, you’ll feel undisturbed by the hectic world outside your romantic den. This getaway is perfect if you’ve been tempted by the British trend for ‘Glamping’ but been put off by the washout weather.
Overlooking the hotel’s beautiful vineyard, the Roulotte is specially equipped to recreate the magical atmosphere of gypsy nights. Original painted wood panelling provides a gorgeous backdrop for the lavish decoration inside, where eclectic curtains complement the bespoke furniture and quaint amenities.
Sitting in the heart of the Luberon, the hotel is famed for its attention to detail, featuring just 14 rooms. Those enjoying a stay in the Roulotte can choose to sample its restaurants, library and tasting vault, as well as gain access to the deluxe spa and treatment rooms.
The ‘La Vie En Rose’ package is great if you’re visiting with a partner for a special occasion – designed for the romantics out there, the hotel offers an unforgettable moonlit dinner outside your Roulotte, drenched in champagne and rose petals.
One night’s stay in the Roulotte includes breakfast and a sumptuous afternoon tea, lunch or dinner, served with exclusive wines from the Domaine de Marie, coffee and Aperitifs. Prices start at €465 per night for two people.
