SPRING SCENT: Stella McCartney’s new L.I.L.Y perfume

Stella McCartney L.I.L.Y review, fashionBiteStella McCartney has just launched her second fragrance, L.I.L.Y. The name, an acronym inspired by her father Paul McCartney saying “Linda, I love you,” is also the name of her mother’s favourite flower Lily of the Valley.

I really like the scent - with its refreshingly floral fragrance (not sickly sweet, as some floral fragrances can be!) - it’s a perfect one for spring time.

Stella worked with Jacques Cavallier – the perfumer who collaborated with her on her first fragrance, STELLA – to create a perfume that includes green lily, truffle and moss notes. Jacques said: ““Stella wanted a fragrance that redefined the extremely natural and fresh image of lily of the valley.

“To create more depth, we infused it with notes of truffle from the Perigord region of France, adding a diffuse, caressing texture.”

The bottle design looks fabulous on my dressing table, inspired by English cut-crystal vases. Stella said: “Creating the bottle was a journey, a story made up of memories. A meeting of vintage glassware and modern art. I wanted it to have a sense of touch as well. The cut-glass contrasting with the cool smoothness of gold and silver.”

L.I.L.Y (£44) has launched exclusively at Selfridges, it will be available nationwide from February 15.

Viktor & Rolf fragrance limited edition, FashionBiteIn addition, if you’re looking for a special fragance for Valentine’s Day, one of my favourite perfume brands - ‘Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb’ - has launched a limited edition ‘Flowerbomb Valentine’s Hold Me Tight’ bottle, enlaced with V&R ribbon.
