PICS JUST IN: Marni Winter 2012 Collection
Marni has released images of its winter 2012 collection and I love the eclectic, 1930’s inspired styling. Bold splashes of bright, neon colour and futuristic eyewear contrast with vintage-esque prints, pull-up socks and fur stoles.
Marni says: “An upbeat energy of rebellion creates a sense of surprise in Marni Edition for winter 2012. The silhouette is classic, to the knee or to the ankle, with juxtapositions of fabric and fur.”
Fabrics include kilt wool, tartan jersey, flannel and jacquard silk. The classic loafer shape is key in footwear, but more “golfer meets rockability,” alongside oversized pumps with metallic toes.
Bags include buckled purses and flat totes, lunch-box bags in modern matt leather and sheepskin totes with hard leather finishes.
Marni says broaches are a focus for accessories next season, with quirky geometric shapes in mixes of resin, acetate, glass and neoprene.

Glad to see the loafer shape is still being used. Can’t get enough! Thanks for sharing.
I know, they’ve been strong for the last few years and looks set to continue. No need to pack away the loafers yet! x
