VIDEO & PICS OF THE NIGHT: FashionBite at the Tiffany Skate launch, Somerset House

FashionBite was lucky enough to attend the fabulous Tiffany Skate launch at Somerset House on Monday night; alongside the likes of Pippa Middleton, Dame Judi Dench, Julien MacDonald, Kelly Hoppen and a spattering of Harry Potter stars. The event was absolutely stunning and so festive, it really put me in the Christmas mood!

We entered to the sound of a gospel choir singing and as candles lined the walkways we were greeted with girls on giant stilts towering above us and jugglers with fluorescent sticks  entertaining the crowds. We were here for the VIP opening of the Tiffany ice-skating rink at Somerset House and no expense had been spared for this spectacular party.

A stand serving huge rounds of cheese – which were heated under lamps then scooped up and spread on to soft baguette – stood next to a stall with minature burgers, hot dogs, Christmas pudding and mince pies. A drinks tent delivered champagne, stunning toffee apple Martini’s and melted hot chocolate drinks (Italian style!)…yum! I found myself next to Paul Smith and his wife in the Tiffany Shop, which was stocked full of sweets, and the ice-rink was brimming with skaters.

Singer Emeli Sande sang a couple of tracks before counting us down to the big Christmas tree lights switch on. Afterwards, we were treated to a beautiful ice-skating dance display, before being let loose back on the ice…my legs (and head) were aching so much the next day!!
