LUXURY SKINCARE – La Prairie skin consultation, Selfridges

La Prairie, FashionBite reviewFashionBite was invited to attend a skincare consultation with the uber-luxurious Switz skincare brand, La Prairie, at its counter in Selfridges, Oxford Street.  This brand couldn’t get more glamorous; offering moisturisers with crushed diamond, platinum and skin caviar creams.

La Prairie prides itself on its cell renewal ingredients, which are active in all its products. This ‘Cellular Complex’ (which is a patented formula) replicates the firmers and boosters that come naturally within the skin’s cells and activates them, encouraging them to produce more of the same and effectively boosting the skin’s metabolism and its ability to retain moisture.

I was lucky enough to try some of the Platinum Rare range, with a sample of the Cellular Eye cream, which feels fabulous on the delicate eye area. The range also includes the most expensive moisturiser on the market at the moment, the Cellular Cream Platinum Rare, which comes in at an eye-watering £634 for 50ml.

However, there are plenty of products below the £100 mark, and its Anti-Aging Foundation, with SPF 15 (£62) is incredibly lightweight and smooth, giving a lovely soft texture to the skin. It’s a decent enough size to last a good six months.  It’s also great to know your foundation is anti-aging!

The Anti-Aging collection is a great one to start off with if you have younger skin; you can work your way up to the Radiance, Caviar and Platinum Collections.

I would recommend booking in for a skin consultation, so you can find out more about the most appropriate product range for you. But don’t worry if you don’t have a store nearby, you can book-in an online consultation at LaPrairie.com.

If you’re looking for a luxurious Christmas present this year, the gold infused Radiance Collection would make a great gift!
