Brands dazzle at Pure this season
It seems like ages ago now, but I’m finally getting round to posting about Pure (the womenswear fashion trade event) this season, which showcased an amazing array of young fashion, accessories and footwear brands at Olympia in London.
The bi-annual, three-day event was its busiest to date and featured nearly a thousand young fashion and womenswear brands.
I always love Pure, it’s a great way to nose around some of the cool brands on offer and check out the new labels trying to break the UK market.
This season, my eyes were drawn to Smash, the Spanish-based womenswear label which embodies bright, bold colours and funky prints- it’s quite retro and reminded me of ’60′s/’70′s psychedelic prints, I could really imagine it on the beach in Ibiza or somewhere..you’d really stand out from the crowd.
I also loved two Topshop-stocked brands called Love and Rare, you can buy them online at Topshop. Love (below) has a fun, fresh take on nautical.
I liked the sailor-style embellishment on dresses and tops, with gold buttons and gold-chain, bodice detail. I bought a body-con striped dress from Zara recently and absolutely love it. I know the nautical trend has been around for the last million seasons but I still can’t get enought of it.
Love’s nude/pastel story also looked great, with bold polka-dots and a fab body-con dress (below).
I liked Rare’s take on nautical as well- with some subtle interpretations of the trend such as this white dress with chunky, navy waistband and gold buttons.
Rare’s white, crochet-style mini dress would look fab with gold strappy flats and a brightly coloured beach bag for summer.
I’ve just booked my summer holidays for this year, Ibiza in July and St.Tropez in August..can’t wait! Building up a wish-list of outfits already…
