 Green with Envy??

*        ..umm..maybe not! The nail colour of the season is green, so thought I’d give it a try- Rimmel’s garish version in Green Grass, you can buy it online at www.boots.com or in store.

Not sure though..think the jury’s still out with green, but maybe I just haven’t got the right shade…!

If you want to unleash the green in you though, Ciaté Paint Pots have 3 great greens to choose from Ciaté Stiletto (apple green), Ciaté Mojito (acid green) and Ciaté Apple & Custard (jade green). You can buy them online at www.ciaté.co.uk and www.asos.com

At last! Zara and H and M to sell online

zara spring 09

So, so, so, so excited!!! Two of my favourite high street stores are launching online next year..Zara and H&M!!! I know it’s been a while in the coming..but still a massive date in the online diary..will keep you posted about launch dates as soon as I hear. I’m loving H&M at the moment and the fantastic collaborations they’ve been doing, most recently Jimmy Choo and Matthew Williamson before that.

Matthew Williamson scarf for H&M

I bought this gorgeous Matthew Williamson scarf from H&M at the time and everytime I wear it people comment on how nice it is- Matthew Williamson and affordable in the same sentence..brilliant!

Fashionbite rocks online

Having launched Fashionbite as part of London Fashion Week’s 25th anniversary, I’ll now focus on what it’s all about..Online, Online, Online! As the high street suffers, the online world booms and fashionbite will bring you all the latest news, products and goss in the online fashion and beauty world. Look no further for your regular dose of online fashion news!!

Gunpowder-Lips1

What better way to start than a new online luxury fashion/lifestyle magazine that has exploded on to the scene… www.gunpowder-magazine.com.

Editor Nick Clarke says he wants to shake-up the magazine industry (after calling Vogue ‘snooty’), by offering a fun, opinionated take on the the world of luxury lifestyle. Lets take a look..

I like the design- it’s simple, clean and unfussy. The content is somewhat ecelectic, but the style is dry and witty. In the fashion pages- music producer Mark Ronson is ridiculed for his receding hairline in the Gucci campaign pics, the calibre of Chanel’s latest ‘face’ Lily Allen is called into question and Scarlett Johansson is called a ‘dirty blonde.’

So, check it out for yourselves..

Sweet tooth

girlfrombluecityHad to flag up this sweet, new accessories brand..pun intended! Saw the company ‘Girl from Blue City’ at a trade show recently and nabbed the liquorice allsort bracelet (left). The designer is based in Wales..and has a penchant for sweets (unsuprisingly!!)

To get your hands on a love heart pendant or jelly baby bracelet- check out the website at www.girlfrombluecity.co.uk.

London Fashion Week hangover

Ally CapellinoThe crazy world that is London Fashion Week has closed for another season…my liver needs a rest! For the last few days I’ve been checking out some of the labels showcasing their work in the exhibition areas.  Ally Capellino’s bag range looked fantastic-soft leather with a worn, vintage look-check it out at www.allycapellino.co.uk.

You can also buy Ally Capellino online at www.asos.com

Also loved the layered, statement pieces by London-based designer Reem- the collection used antique prints, lace, feather and leather to create standout items. Check out her designs at www.reemalasadi.com. You can’t buy them online, but the designer has about 30 stockists worldwide, call +44 (0)1622 881797 for more info.

Reem’s accessories collection was a mixture of studded leather, pearl, feather, beads and contrasting fabrics..the necklaces looked amazing..

Caught up with Lisa Snowdon (who looked stunning) heading to the Jaeger London catwalk show on Monday…

Also caught David Walliams slipping out of the Jaeger show with his model lady-friend..hope her book title has no reference to him!

Monday night I headed to the British Fashion Council’s party at the Mayfair Hotel, really good night! Harold Tillman,  who heads up Jaeger and Aquascutum, was the perfect host! Erin O’Connor, Lady Victoria Hervey and Martine McCutcheon, along with US director Spike Lee (directed Malcom X) were among the guests. Spike Lee wouldn’t have his pic taken I’m afraid..so you’ll have to take my word for it! However, best of all there was a cinema next door, complete with popcorn..which was showing  music concerts in 3D!! You had to don these sexy 3D glasses..well, not quite!..(check out my pic below) but it was amazing, felt like you were live in the concert with the crowds all around you!

Anyway, I’ll hang up my London Fashion Week boots for this season- but from now on will be posting daily with new fashion/beauty products, exciting brands and fab collections. See you soon! fashionbite xx

On Off after dark..

Hundreds of us crammed into an underground carpark to await the Pam Hogg show..and it didn’t disappoint! Front row seats were taken up by fashion week favourites Peaches Geldoff and Jodie Harsh, along with fashion expert Caryn Franklin and singer Boy George. Model of the moment Alice Dellal was on the catwalk and sources told me Kate Moss/Amy Winehouse made an appearance behind the scenes- but there was no sight of them out the front!

Pam Hogg’s geometric, futuristic catsuit designs were a big hit, with hair backcombed and big- the collection was striking, yet still commercial.

The silver studded black/ white leather suits got a standing ovation!

..but one of my favourites was a backless dress with silver studded white leather panelling at the front and a netted train at the back..see below..

After Pam Hogg, I headed to the On Off after party which was rammed and rocking.

Experimental 80′s band Soul II Soul made an appearance and stole the show, with everyone up dancing to the classsic old school hits.  Alice Dellal took residence on the floor with a group of friends in one corner, whilst Boy George sat in another munching on the free chocolates! Jalouse hosted the after party..I stumbled home in the early hours..

London Fashion Week dazzles on first day

London Fashion Week, Somerset House 2London Fashion Week couldn’t have picked a better day to debut at its new home at Somerset house. The sun was shining down and the fashion pack were out in force. I headed to On Off presents- which showcases four new, up and coming designers in one catwalk show.

On Off Presents 1

Designers Joanne Vanderpuije, Michela Carraro, Prose Studio and Yang Du put on a great event, but Yang Du really stole the show at the end with a fun, comical, cartoon-inspired collection which was greeted with rapturous applause!

After the show I checked out design duo Boudicca’s latest offering- the perfume  Wode by Boudicca. Inspired by a spray can, the perfume appears to cover you in blue paint when sprayed..but magically disappears a few minutes later!!

Check out my before and after shots..

I’ll be heading off to Pam Hogg’s catwalk show tonight, then On Off’s after party. Will post again tomorrow with all the goss!! See you soon. xx
